West Tisbury is the island's central town that ties it all together. It offers all the charm of the typical village with its churches, general stores, farms, ponds and even a mill. There are many quaint inns here that cater to the numerous tourists that flock here in the summer. In years gone by, many of the existing stately homes served as inns to the visitors that would travel the island, all because of the central location.

There are wooded trails that offer tranquil paths to watch birds or just to relax on. Drive on tree-branch covered roads that harken back to the days of horse and carriage.
